TubeCube
A refined solitaire made of wood with a variable façade

TubeCube is a free-standing solitaire, set perhaps a bit too centrally in the courtyard. The new building appears refined in contrast to the existing structures’ coarse impression.
The design does justice to wood construction; the structure’s ground plan is symmetrical, with a concrete core, vertical load transfer through cross-laminated timber walls and columns, and a lively façade structured by sliding sunshade elements.
